Sometimes It's not Just About the Food

Something really special happened for all of us at Ferry Plaza Seafood on Saturday.

In the midst of all the excitement around our beloved 49ers, we had a large group of about 17 people come by. 2 of the people that came are regular customers of ours though we hadn’t seen them in quite a while. As the party trickled in and the bottles of wine and sparkling flowed, the party was joyful.

At one point the gentleman hosting the party said they were going to go outside the restaurant for a group photo by the water and just wanted to let me know. I said of course take your time. Sometime later, they returned and the party wound down.

They graciously paid the bill and began to disperse. After the last of the guests were slowly leaving, the host came to me and said I just want to thank you for taking such good care of us. I said of course, it was so great to see you. He said a loved one used to come all the time with him and she had passed away. Since Ferry Plaza Seafood was her favorite spot to come to, they all gathered here in her memory and placed her ashes in the bay right in front of our restaurant so she will always be here.

I think one can get a higher compliment than knowing that a customer’s final resting place is with us. A place she loved to come.

Thank you so much dear customers for loving us so much we love you too!

Rest in peace.
